Dr. Joshua Li joined Highland Pet Hospital & Wellness Center as a veterinarian on June 1, 2015. He is a native of central New Jersey and received his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 from University of Illinois.
Dr. Li has interests in emergency medicine and surgery, as well as diagnostic imaging. He excels in mentoring veterinary and pre-veterinary students, and enjoys challenging students to learn and gain confidence. Dr. Li is always up for the next adventure and welcomes the challenges of emergency medicine. His level head and endurance are well suited for the unpredictability that comes with overnights, weekends and holidays.
Dr. Li splits his time between Highland Pet Hospital hours and providing emergency care through the Animal Emergency Clinic. At Highland you are likely to see him teaching students, handling prompt care appointments, or doing surgery. During his Animal Emergency Clinic hours he’s doing the same thing, but usually with a lot more urgency!
Dr. Li is a member of AVMA and ISVMA. He is also an active member of Christian Veterinary Missions organization. When he is not at work, he enjoys hanging out with his wife, Laura. Together they have three energetic sons. Dr. Li enjoys baking bread, making homemade pizza, smoking meat, and has recently developed an enjoyment of making coffee. In both veterinary medicine and at home, he enjoys finding and researching new gadgets. The Li family enjoys being part of the Highland/AEC Community, and the greater Bloomington-Normal community.
