Welcome to Highland Pet Hospital! Here's everything you need to know to make your first visit smooth and stress-free.

Before Your Visit

Gather Records

Bring any previous veterinary records, including vaccination history and recent lab work. You can email these ahead of time to info@highlandpethospital.com.

Make a List

Write down any questions or concerns you have, current medications your pet takes, and any symptoms or behaviors you've noticed.

Arrive Early

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment to complete new patient paperwork. You can also download forms from our website to fill out at home.

Payment

Payment is due at time of service. We accept cash and major credit cards. Ask about CareCredit and Affirm financing options.

What to Bring

Your pet (in a carrier for cats, on a leash for dogs)
Previous veterinary records
List of current medications and supplements
Current diet/food brand information
Fecal sample (if requested)
Your questions and concerns written down

During Your Visit

Your veterinarian will perform a complete physical examination, review your pet's history, and discuss any concerns. Based on your pet's age, lifestyle, and health status, we'll recommend appropriate:

•Vaccinations
•Parasite prevention (heartworm, flea, tick)
•Diagnostic tests (if needed)
•Nutrition and dental care guidance

We encourage questions! Understanding your pet's health is important, and we're here to help you make informed decisions.

Tips for Anxious Pets

•Stay calm—your pet picks up on your stress
•Use a comfortable carrier with familiar bedding
•Cover the carrier with a blanket for nervous cats
•Bring your pet's favorite treats
•Ask about pre-visit calming medications
•Request a quiet room if your pet is very anxious
