What is Prompt Care?
Prompt Care is our same-day urgent appointment service for situations that need attention but aren't emergencies. Rather than waiting days for a regular appointment, we'll work you into our schedule as quickly as possible.

- Limping or minor injuries
- Eye redness or discharge
- Ear infections
- Vomiting or diarrhea (alert but not severe)
- Skin issues (rashes, hot spots)
- Minor wounds
- Urinary issues
- Sudden loss of appetite
- Coughing or sneezing
Not Sure If It's an Emergency?
Call us. Our team will help you determine whether your pet needs emergency care at AEC or can wait for a Prompt Care appointment.
True emergencies requiring immediate AEC care include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe bleeding
- Collapse or inability to stand
- Seizures
- Toxin ingestion
- Severe trauma
- Inability to urinate (especially male cats)
What to Expect
When you call for a Prompt Care appointment:
- We'll ask about your pet's symptoms
- We'll find the earliest available time slot
- A veterinarian will examine your pet
- Diagnostics may be recommended
- You'll leave with a treatment plan
Same-day appointments are subject to availability. Calling early in the day gives you the best chance of being seen.
